Bhagwan Jagannath is fond of festivals. The Vedic philosophy legislated that life is just a festival in itself. It is Bhagwan who has imagined Ved on the whole. As such, he likes festivals with all mandatory fanfare in order to convey the message that life be perceived as a festival. Neither any distress not any desperation has anything to do with it as it emits only happiness all around. The only thing we have to do is the realisation of the same. This is here that Bhagwan alerts us not to be oblivious of that pleasing reality. Hence a simple question is “why not shun the pseudo vanity of life and celebrate it all along with sheer delight”. The auspicious Akshay Tritiya i.e. the third day of the bright fortnight of lunar calendar Vaishakh month (April/May) will fall on the 23rd April this year.

The word “Akshay” literally refers to “never eroding”. It means that whatever good we do on this day is everlasting fruitful.
